Certifications
Global Organic Latex Standards (GOLS)
The 100% Organic and Natural latex is sourced from Sri Lanka and is certified to Global Organic Latex Standards (GOLS), proving that the raw material is obtained from organically grown rubber tree plantations. It is a sustainable process, and each mattress has a sticker with a unique product number that can be traced. The latex is hypoallergenic, anti-dust mite, and anti-asthmatic.
Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS)
The organic cover is made with 100% Organic Wool and 100% Organic Cotton, a very high thread count. The textiles are GOTS-certified (Global Organic Textile Standards). The wool material is attached to the natural cotton backing. Wool natural fibres create heat as they absorb moisture and then create a cooling action as the moisture is wicked away.
STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®
STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certificate applies to all to 100% natural latex foam mattresses, toppers, pillows, and covers. STANDARD 100 of the OEKO-TEX® accreditation examines the recognition of "baby-safe" materials and REACH standards. It offers a high level of protection for human health and the environment from chemical exposure.
The ECO Institute in Germany
The ECO Institute in Germany conducted a test to evaluate the Dunlop latex foam's fillers, synthetic rubber, toxic components, and emissions. ECO certification demonstrates that our Dunlop products are free of fillers, synthetic rubber, and hazardous ingredients, certifying them to be 100% natural. The products are tested for harmful chemicals and toxic substances, ensuring they are safe for human use and do not pose health risks. The certification process includes testing for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other emissions to ensure the products do not release harmful substances into the environment or indoor air. The ECO test by the Institute in Germany provides transparency about the product’s composition and manufacturing process, fostering trust among consumers. It ensures that the products are made using environmentally sustainable methods, reducing the carbon footprint and promoting ecological balance.
ECO certification
ECO certification confirms that Dunlop latex block components are free from SBR or additional filler content and have passed with significantly higher ratings at the test. Products without synthetic fillers or SBR are biodegradable, reducing environmental pollution.
LGA Quality Test Germany
LGA Quality Test Germany assesses the durability and resilience of natural latex. Our 100% natural Dunlop latex achieved 99/100 in this test. The test involves subjecting the latex to various stress conditions to determine its ability to withstand wear and tear over time. This includes compression, stretching, and other mechanical stresses that simulate long-term use. A score of 99/100 indicates that the latex has exceptional durability, meaning it can maintain its structural integrity and performance over a prolonged period, even under significant stress.
The eco-INSTITUT certification
The eco-INSTITUT certification is a widely recognised label signifying that a product meets high environmental and health requirements. It tests the 100% natural Talalay latex for hazardous compounds and emissions to assure its safety and sustainability. The certification evaluates the product's potential lifecycle impact, from raw material extraction to disposal. Products with this certification are considered safe for extended exposure to people, making them a healthy and greener option for use in mattresses, toppers, and pillows. Employing eco-INSTITUT-certified Talalay latex has many benefits, such as customer trust, environmental consciousness, and superior quality. The accreditation confirms that the product has positive health effects and a commitment to sustainability.
The Cradle to Cradle principle
The Cradle to Cradle principle is based on human health, material reutilisation, renewable (green) energy, carbon management, water stewardship, and social responsibility. Our 100% natural Talalay meets Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Gold level requirements for all categories, ensuring no artificial additives, petrochemicals, harmful off-gassing, or toxic substances. Cradle to Cradle analyses show that the latex foam contains zero harmful materials for the health of humans and the environment. Moreover, natural Talalay latex is a 100% recyclable material. Therefore, it can be used in various applications, particularly where comfort, durability, and sustainability are valued.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), a nonprofit organisation, assures that the forests from which Talalay products are derived are responsibly managed. Incorporating health and safety laws, they additionally take into consideration social and economic factors to ensure fair working conditions and traceability across the production process. The certification has been awarded to the Talalay latex bedding material. Talalay latex is sourced from responsibly managed rubber trees, and our supplier has been granted Chain of Custody certification, the first in the latex bedding industry. Although we are using FSC-certified latex, it meets both FSC and Rainforest Alliance certification requirements. Rainforests are vital to our ecosystem. The Rainforest Alliance works with farmers, foresters, and tourism industry professionals to conserve natural diversity, secure livelihoods, and moderate the environmental impact of forestry. The Rainforest Alliance facilitates fair and stable incomes for workers and communities.
CertiPUR Health, Safety, and Environmental Standard.
The reflex foam we use is high-density polyurethane foam, which is the industry's leading filler-free foam range. The polyurethane foam is certified and complies with the requirements of the CertiPUR Health, Safety, and Environmental Standard. CertiPUR sets the most rigorous standard and ensures that polyurethane foams are free of harmful substances, which is an increasing concern among consumers. The CertiPUR programme offers customers the confidence and comfort of knowing that the polyurethane foam used in the mattresses met the standards for emissions, content, and durability and was tested by independent, accredited laboratories that are not affiliated with the manufacturer of the products being tested. CertiPUR-certified foams are evaluated to verify they are FREE of dangerous substances such as ozone depleters, mercury, PBDE flame retardants, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and phthalates. The certification tackles indoor air quality challenges by limiting the foam's volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. Low VOC emissions contribute to healthier indoor air quality.
